- In 2009 I did P90X and lasted 5 weeks. Saw amazing results, but working out 6 days a week was just too much on my body and my schedule with my family.
- In 2011 DJ offered to buy me a killer TV if I dropped to 175 (20 lb weight loss) by midnight of January 31. If I failed, then I would have to buy her a very expensive purse. If I succeeded and managed to gain the weight back, then I'd have to buy her the purse. That morning I weighed in at 174.4 and asked DJ if I could start eating again. Through Bikram, cardio exercises, and straight up starvation, I looked great, but felt famished. Learned the hard way that this diet is not sustainable.
- I got a fat bonus at work in February so for DJ's birthday I decided to get her a really nice purse anyway. Hello pizza, cheeseburgers, and ice cream!
- DJ's pregnancy and the birth of Max was just an excuse to not hit the gym and eat fatty, convenient foods. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my birthday in January 2012 also added to my waistline.
- January 9, 2012 - We started a weight loss competition at work. $50 a person. About 8 people joined up. Whoever lost the most percentage of body weight by 1 April would win the pot. We weighed in and this is the heaviest I've ever been in my life: a whopping 201 lbs!
- The Valentin family also sent an email about a "most improved abs" competition on Memorial day. I'm in there like swimwear.
- Today, Day 7, January 16 - For the past week I've been managing my portions, staying away from beef and pork, increasing my veggie intake, and dramatically reducing my sugar intake. Weighed myself this morning: 197 lbs / 4 lbs lost in one week / 4 lbs lost overall.

Day 7 - A week late
The diet started a week ago so I'm late on this blog. Easiest way to catch up is through bullets, so here we go:
